The year coming is the Year of the Dog and I hope that it is better for dogs than the Year of the Rooster has been for the world’s poultry! The Spring Festival starts on the first day of the lunar year and in 2006 that is 29 January. Everyone gets a holiday and the fire-crackers are non-stop. The decorations are now appearing in the shops and everyone is full of excitement.
